Independent, on purpose.

We started Diet Bloxy Cola to make our own games, with their own ideas and their own reasons to come back. Not copies of whatever is trending.

So we stayed small. We own our games, we run our own community, and we listen to the people who actually play. When something feels off, the person who can fix it is right there. When something works, we build on it the same day.

Right now we are heads down on Shoplifters. It is the first of a few games we want to make, and we would rather get it right than rush it out.

How we make games

Four things go into everything we ship. They are the reason a Diet Bloxy Cola game feels like one.

1

Original games

We make our own characters, worlds, and ideas. We do not copy whatever trended last week.

2

We listen to players

We ship, watch how people play, read the comments, and push updates fast.

3

It has to feel good

How a game controls and feels comes first. We obsess over the first minute of play.

4

We sweat the details

Sound, animation, and the little touches. That is the part players remember.

Who does what

No middle layers. The people who make the calls are the people building the game.

Studio lead

Sets the direction, keeps the scope honest, and makes the final call on what ships.

Gameplay

Owns the first minute of play: the controls, the pacing, and why you press play again.

Art and animation

Makes the games clear at a glance and fun to look at, from cans to characters.

Engineering

Keeps the game fast and fair, and builds the systems that make it all work.

Community

Runs the playtests and brings player feedback back to the team.

Sound and QA

Sound design and the last ten percent, the part you cannot name but always feel.
